Feb pharma exports up 36.7%

Hyderabad, June 11

Export of pharmaceutical goods grew by 36.7 per cent in February 2009 at Rs 3,269 crore compared with Rs 2,391 crore in year-ago period, according to data released by Pharmaceuticals Exports Promotion Council (Pharmexcil). In dollar terms, the growth was 10.2 per cent. The total exports had reached Rs 35,402 crore for the period April 2008 to February 2009, growing at 34.4 per cent compared with Rs 26,342. crore in the same period of the previous year. In dollar terms, the exports increased 18.9 per cent at $7.79 billion, according to a release. —
