Animals & Livestock Select livestock imports banned New Delhi, June 6 India has banned imports of select livestock and its products in the wake of the spread of swine-flu. Import into India of select livestock and livestock products shall be prohibited from all countries, in view of notifiable Avian Influenza, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification. Livestock and livestock products, including domestic and wild birds (excluding poultry and captive birds), unprocessed meat and meat products from avian species, w ild birds, and the semen of domestic and wild birds, would not be allowed into the country, the DGFT has said. Imports of live poultry, eggs and their products, live pigs, pathological material, and unprocessed feathers from the countries reporting avian influenza have also been prohibited. — Our Bureau More Stories on : Animals & Livestock | Exports & Imports
