Minor fire at MRPL

Mangalore, June 5 A minor fire broke out in naphtha vaporiser of the hydrogen plant at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) on Friday morning. Ms Lekshmi Kumaran, Deputy General Manager (Corporate Communication) of MRPL, told Business Line that there was a minor fire at 6.03 a.m. on Friday in the naphtha vaporiser of the hydrogen plant.

She said the fire was extinguished in 12 minutes. “It was a minor fire. The refinery is equipped with the best of the safety technology. MRPL is completely equipped to protect the people and the refinery,” she added.
