Axis Bank to raise Rs 3,000 cr

Mumbai, June 1 Axis Bank on Monday said it will raise Rs 3,000 crore through debt in the current fiscal. Of this, Rs 500 crore will be Tier-I capital and the remaining Tier-II capital, the bank said in an announcement to the BSE.The bond issues would be either in rupee or in foreign currency.

At the Annual General Meeting, held in Ahmedabad, the bank approved a resolution to bifurcate the post of Chairman and CEO, with effect from June 1.

The bank also announced that Ms Shikha Sharma has taken charge as Managing Director and CEO. She was earlier MD and CEO of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.
