Retailing Asian Retail Institute courses New Delhi, May 25 The Asian Retail Institute (ARI) has announced entrylevel Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) certified programmes for those with as little a schooling as Class 8 to target the high unemployment and dropout rates in the country. The courses would aim to impart basic shop-floor retail training. ARI, a three-year-old vocational college, is looking to impart employable skills to those with little or no formal education. The institute already has short programmes for entrylevel staffers, certificate courses for mid-career professionals and has recently started with BBA and MBA courses as well. The institute has been appointed as a `community college' by IGNOU . With this accreditation, ARI now plans to offer short-term courses in Entrepreneurship, Business Skills, Office Management, Functional English and Computer Literacy, besides a BBA in Retail Management. ARI is jointly promoted by entrepreneurs Mr Mahesh Patel and Ms Namita Jain. - Our Bureau More Stories on : Retailing | Education
