New Projects Everest sprucing up unit to tap southern market Our Bureau Bangalore, May 20 Everest Industries Ltd, a leading North-based construction component manufacturing company, expects its new business of pre-engineered factory buildings and warehouses to further strengthen its Southern market, which accounts for about 30 per cent its total business. The company is refurbishing its Coimbatore facility to cater to the additional demand in South for its roofing solutions. Everest has a plant for its pre-engineered steel buildings in Bhagwanpur, Roorkee, set up last year with an investment of Rs 100 crore. With multi-location production facilities in the North, Central and South, Everest manufactures a wide range of products including flooring, cladding, doors and roofing and steel building solutions. The Southern region contributed Rs 150 crore of the total turnover of Rs 530 crore this year, a growth of 80 per cent compared to last year. The company has projected a lower growth at 40 per cent due to the lingering effect of the economic slowdown. However, it expects the new business of steel building solutions for factories and warehouses to shore up top line growth. Mr Manish Sanghi, Executive Director, Everest Industries, said with strong signs of recovery in the industrial production from the third quarter, Everest saw faster growth for its new business. Mr Sanghi expects pre-engineered factory buildings and warehouses sector of the construction industry to grow 40 per cent on its overall Rs 3,000 crore business now. South, particularly Tamil Nadu, was likely to lead in the region for the sector. More Stories on : New Projects | Cement
