Madhu Kannan is new BSE chief

Mumbai, May 11 The Bombay Stock Exchange has appointed Mr Madhu Kannan as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. The BSE is filling this post nine months after Mr Rajnikanth Patel quit.

Mr Kannan, prior to this appointment, was Managing Director (Strategy and Business Development) with Bank of America-Merrill Lynch and was based in New York.

He has also held various posts at the NYSE Euronext, primarily focused on the Asia Pacific and the Middle East. He was nominated by the World Economic Forum, based in Geneva, as a Young Global Leader in 2007.
