BMW India in phase 2 of expansion

Our Bureau

Coimbatore, May 1 BMW India is planning to expand operations via the dealership route across 10 additional cities by 2010.

This is in the second phase of the company’s expansion plans and is expected to include dealerships in Jaipur, Ludhiana, Lucknow and Coimbatore.

The company, a subsidiary of the BMW Group, currently has 12 dealers representing BMW in the Indian market. Considering the huge market potential here, the company, according to its Director (After-Sales), Mr Owen Riley, has chalked an extensive dealer strategy to support its plans.

New sales outlet

Mr Riley was in the city at the launch of BMW India’s new sales and service outlet — Kun Exclusive, Coimbatore. The outlet here is a satellite facility of Kun Exclusive, Chennai, dealership partner for BMW India in Tamil Nadu.

The facility covering about 5,000 sq ft (including new car display area) is located in Ondipudur.
