Ugam Solutions sees big growth in outsourcing

L.N. Revathy

Coimbatore, April 30 Ugam Solutions is looking to ramp up its headcount over the next three years.

The company, a provider of outsourced operations and analytics services to the marketing research industry, foresees huge growth opportunity in this space.

It has, since its inception in 2001 grown from a 16-member team to over 900 at present. It plans to take the headcount to 1,500 in three year’s time.

Speaking to Business Line after inaugurating its office here, Mr Sunil P. Mirani, Chief Executive Officer, Ugam Solutions reiterated that the facility in Coimbatore would be its engine of growth henceforth.

Office units

The company has taken 44,000 sq ft of space in the Coimbatore Hi-tech Infrastructure Ltd (CHIL) IT Park at Sarvanampatti near here for setting up its office. “We will be occupying 22,000 sq ft immediately and occupy the remaining space within the next 12-18 months,” Mr Mirani said.

The company has established offices in Mumbai, London, Rochester in the US and now in Coimbatore.

“We have two facilities in Mumbai and have engaged 800 people, while there are 70 people working in our London office, 10 in the US and 30 in Coimbatore. We would like to grow our Coimbatore facility to 600,” he said.

Company focus

The company has initiated discussion with select institutions in the city for picking the right talent pool. “We are looking to hire Math and Stat (istics) graduates, with good track record and analytical skills,” Mr Dharmesh Mistry, Vice-President and Chief Talent Officer, Ugam Solutions, said.

The company is expecting a revenue growth of 40 per cent this year. “We will continue to focus on the US and European markets, besides looking at Indian and Asian companies as well,” Mr Mirani said.

On expansion plans, he said “We would look to acquire companies outside India. While opportunities do exist here, it can only add to our delivery capability. We are looking to acquire and add specialised capability to our services and this can happen only on the client shore. We are not constrained by geography, but want to ensure what the client wants. Nothing has clicked as yet,” he added.
