Jindal SAW net up 14% in Q1

New Delhi, April 30 Jindal SAW, the makers of submerged arc welded (SAW) pipes largely used in the energy industry for oil and gas, reported a 14.57 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 97.85 crore during the quarter ended March 31, 2009.

Net profits for the corresponding quarter the previous year stood at Rs 85.40 crore.

Net sales during the quarter increased by 53.7 per cent to Rs 1,463.63 crore as against Rs 952.14 crore reported during the corresponding quarter the previous year.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 210.75, 1.69 per cent higher from the previous day’s close on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
