Our Bureau

Hyderabad, April 28 Eyeing a huge market for its new generation graphics technology in India, AMD has signed an agreement with the Hyderabad-based gaming development company FXLabs.

AMD, a graphics processor provider and supplier of microprocessors, would deploy its ATI FirePro (a new series of workstation graphics technology) at FXLabs and help it develop world-class games by optimising the technology.

“The new technology would help us develop local games with higher quality. It will also enable us to offer the games at a cheaper tag,” Mr Sashi Reddi, Chief Executive Officer of FXLabs, said.

Ms Janet Matsuda, Senior Director (Professional Graphics) of AMD, said the new technology had applications in engineering design, animation, financial services and healthcare. The new technology would let the graphics content developers and other users carry out tasks that involved complex processing and demanded superior performance and speed.

Mr Ramkumar Subramanian, Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) of AMD India, said the agreement with FXLabs would help AMD expand its marketshare in India.
