Dr Reddy's anti-acne gel

Hyderabad, April 28

Pharma major Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd has launched Nexret for the treatment of acne in India. The launch of the drug, in gel formulation, marked the entry of the Hyderabad-based company into the topical anti-acne segment, a commonly diagnosed condition by dermatologists. "Nexret (Tretinoin 0.04 per cent and 0.1 per cent as microspheres) is a next generation anti-acne formulation made from a proprietary non-porous microsphere technology. This technology minimises irritation associated with drugs like Tretinoin and provides controlled delivery of drug to the skin," the company said in a release. The anti-acne market in India is about Rs 130 crore and is growing at the rate of about 14 per cent a year. - Our Bureau
