IPL matches reach 10 m viewers

Chennai, April 23 Despite advertisers getting jittery about the viewership of the ongoing IPL tournament, 10 million viewers tuned in over the weekend to view the matches, according to the TAM Peoplemeter System, which recorded viewership across six metros in the target group 4 years-plus in cable and satellite homes.

The match on Sunday (April 19) between Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils had a television rating of 5.08, reaching 9.16 million, whereas the second match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Deccan Chargers recorded 5.34, with a reach of 10.99 million viewers.

The match on Monday (April 20) between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore recorded a TVR of 6.02, reaching 13.44 million viewers. However, the rain truncated match on April 21 saw viewership plunging. The match between Kings XI and KKR had a TVR of 3.64, reaching 7.94 million.
