50% rise in Supplyco sales

Kochi, April 9

The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation, popularly known as Supplyco, has registered 50 per cent increase in sales turnover, which touched Rs 1,851 crore in 2008-09 as against Rs 1,256 crore in the previous fiscal. Application of scientific procedures in procurement, selling and competitive pricing of different products for the benefit of consumers of the State resulted in higher rate of footfalls in all the retail outlets of Supplyco. The company is targeting a turnover of above Rs 2,000 crore during the current financial year and over one crore consumers every month in its outlets, a release said. - Our Bureau
