Karnataka Bank sees Rs 39,000 cr biz

Mangalore, April 3

Karnataka Bank is eyeing a business turnover of Rs 39,000 crore for 2009-10, according to Mr Ananthakrishna, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. This included total deposits of Rs 24,000 crore and advances of Rs 15,000 crore, he said. With the incremental business growth of Rs 6,800 crore during the current financial year, including Rs 3,700 crore of deposits and Rs 3,100 crore of advances, the bank aims to reach a business turnover of Rs 39,000 crore by March 2010, he said. Addressing staff members at the bank’s head office in Mangalore on Wednesday, Mr Ananthakrishna said, the bank, which has 447 branches, intends to take the total number to 475 by the end of March 2010. The bank plans to reach 200 ATMs by the end of current fiscal from the present strength of 171 ATMs.
