Roger Pereira appointed Global Vice-Chairman of Edelman

Mumbai, March 27 Public relations firm Edelman has appointed Mr Roger C.B. Pereira as its Global Vice-Chairman. Mr Pereira is currently the CEO & Managing Director of R&PM:Edelman, the Indian arm of Edelman.

He is the first person to be appointed to this position from the emerging markets, said a release from the company.

Mr Pereira , who will start his new role effective July, will work closely with Edelman’s global client relationship managers and large-client leads to provide an emerging markets perspective to global stakeholder engagement and communications strategies, the release said..

Mr Pereira, an industry veteran, had set up his own PR firm in 1987. He was responsible for handling initial projects for the National Dairy Development Board, Hindustan Lever and the Department of Atomic Energy. He had worked at ad firms JWT and then at Shilpi.

He was one of the key founders of the Advertising Standards Council of India and the India Chapter of the International Advertising Association. He was also on the international Board of the IAA for several years.
