Programme on innovations

Madurai, March 24

An awareness programme for entrepreneurs on fostering innovations for a better society will be held in the city on Friday, March 27 at Maditssia Hall between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The programme would focus on bringing about an understanding of the procedures of protecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in the Indian and international context. The meet would cover, among other things, the legislations covering IPRs in India, administration of IPRs, copyright laws and relat ed issues. The meet would help the entrepreneurs to know the methods of harnessing IPRs to enhance their competitiveness and cultivate a climate of creativity and innovation. The meet is being organised by the Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (Maditssia), the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, Germany and the Lemelson Recognition and Monitoring Programme, a joint initiative of the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai and Rural Innovations Network with support from Lemelson Foundation, US. —
