DRDO outlay for universities

Madurai, March 17

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will spend 10 per cent of its annual budget on research through universities, said Mr W. Selvamurthy, Chief Controller, R&D (Life Services and Human Resources). “Funds are not at all a problem and what are needed are good research programmes and researchers. DRDO will partner with universities during the 11th Plan and 10 per cent of its Rs 6,000-crore annual budget for research would be routed through unive rsities with potential for innovations,” he said while speaking at Kalasalingam University near –
