New Delhi, March 13 Durables major Samsung India plans to strengthen its home appliance range by launching new air-conditioner and refrigerator models.

It will be investing over Rs 100 crore as mould investments for introducing these products.

The new range of air-conditioners comprises 18 spilt and seven window air-conditioners. The focus for this year also will be in the premium category.

“Based on the new AC range introduction and an aggressive sales network expansion across the top 33 cities in the country, we expect to notch up a 50 per cent growth in our air-conditioners volumes this year,” said Mr Ravinder Zutshi, Deputy Managing Director Samsung India.

A key thrust area for the home appliances range has been on enhancing the energy efficiencies and also customising the products for the Indian market. Samsung India plans to expand its channel for home appliance products by 40 per cent this year.

Among other products in the home appliances category, the company is also betting big on its refrigerator where it plans to unveil 20 new models, and fully automatic washing segments.
