BHEL gets Adani Power order


New Delhi, March 9

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Monday said it has bagged a contract for manufacturing and supplying generator transformers for the 1,980-MW Tirora Thermal Power Project of Adani Power Maharashtra Ltd. Valued at Rs 81 crore, the order envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply and installation of generator transformers. The equipment will be manufactured at the company’s Bhopal plant, a company release said. The supplies will commence in December 2010 and the contract will be completed by December 2011, it said. This is the second order that BHEL has won for generator transformers for 660 MW supercritical sets.
