Sonata sets up arm in Dubai

Bangalore, March 4 Sonata Software Ltd said it has opened a full-owned subsidiary Sonata Software FZ – LLC at Dubai Internet City, the region’s leading managed ICT cluster.

The subsidiary would function as a regional hub for Sonata’s business in West Asia and Africa, and would strengthen the company’s presence in the region, it said in a statement.

Sonata Software will use its Dubai Internet City free zone base to target regional market segments including the travel, tourism, hospitality and construction sectors.

“We are excited about our geographical expansion into West Asia. We are confident that operating out of the region’s leading managed ICT cluster will make this an important growth engine for Sonata,” said Mr. B Ramaswamy, President and Managing Director of Sonata Software.

Mr Mahesh Shastry, General Manager, Middle East and Africa, and Mr A T Srinivasan, Principal Consultant, would form a team that would manage the West Asian operations, the company said.

Sonata’s services range from IT consulting, product engineering services, application development, application management, managed testing, business intelligence, infrastructure management, packaged applications to travel solutions.

Dubai Internet City currently hosts most of the Fortune 500 companies and more than 1,200 specialized companies from diverse segments of the information and communication technology sectors.
