Zydus unit gets accreditation

Ahmedabad, March 4

Cadila Healthcare Ltd (Zydus Cadila) on Wednesday announced that the Zydus Research Centre here has received full accreditation from the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International, making it the second company in India to receive this accreditation.

AAALAC is an international body of experts comprising 33 council members and over 170 consultants, which assesses and recognises animal care and uses programmes of biomedical research or academic institutions that use animals in research, teaching or testing. The accreditation is recognised globally for certifying the best of the animal care and use programmes. The accreditation follows an extensive on-site evaluation by AAALAC of Zydus’ research facilities and programmes for the care of laboratory animals, the company said. —
