Southern Agrifurane’s MD resigns

Chennai, March 4

Mr A.K.M.A. Shamsuddin, Managing Director, Liquor Division, of the Chennai-based Southern Agrifurane Industries Pvt Ltd (SAFL), has resigned from his post. He joined the MGM Group company in 2006. Earlier, Mr Shamsuddin was President of Shaw Wallace. Joining Shaw Wallace as an accounts assistant, he rose to become President and was instrumental in launching many successful brands, including Hayward’s 5000, Director’s Special Whisky, White Mischief vodka and Ant iquity Blue Whisky. Mr Shamsuddin, who has been in the industry for over three decades, is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and of INSEAD, France. When contacted, Mr Shamsuddin said he is currently exploring new and interesting opportunities and has still not finalised his next venture.
