Agri-Biz & Commodities - Rubber
‘Research impetus to rubber’

Kottayam, March 2

Effective research support is inevitable for the development of rubber industries and the Rubber Research Institute of India (RRII) has a decisive role in this, said Mr Sajen Peter, Chairman of Rubber Board, at the inaugural meeting of an information exchange session with All-India Rubber Industries Association. Rubber cultivation and industry are complimentary to each other and only when the development of these two becomes a reality can a permanent growth for the two sec tors be ensured, he said. The success of research and development programmes was instrumental for the expeditious growth of the rubber planting sector and giving due importance to the development of rubber cultivation, the board makes all efforts to give more research support to industries also. With this objective, the rubber technology centre under the RRII has been modernised and made more efficient, the Chairman said. —
