Visual effects co selects HP tool

Bangalore, Feb. 27

Hewlett-Packard Co said visual effects company Paprikaas has selected HP blade server technology to increase production of computer-generated imagery and drive cost-saving data centre initiatives. Paprikaas is using HP ProLiant BL460c G5 servers. This server uses 44 fewer watts a blade, saving more than 700 watts an enclosure, which is up to a 25 per cent energy-efficiency improvement, the company said in a statement. In addition to cost savings, HP Blades can help reduce the carbon footprint and minimise environmental impact, he added.
