Tirupur exporters hail rail budget

Coimbatore, Feb. 14

The Tirupur Exporters' Association has welcomed the interim Railway Budget. Its President, Mr A. Sakthivel, said, "the Minister has made the right move in this hour of economic crisis by keeping the freight charges at the same level and initiating a 2 per cent cut in fare for all classes". The association, however, was disappointed over the silence to its plea for introduction of an overnight express train to Bangalore and gauge conversion from Coimbatore to Dindigul. - Our Bureau
