Opinion - Letters
Delayed findings

It has taken the Discipliary Action Committee of the ICAI eight years to conclude that the audit of Global Trust Bank was faulty.

This enormous delay brings into focus the need for this august body to regulate its members.

It is high time rigid time-lines are laid down for such probes and if the audit firms or their auditors, especially the members of ICAI, adopt dilatory tactics, their licences should be suspended till the probe clears them completely.
