Events Industry & Economy - Education Great Lakes students win top 3 slots at DHL Bonn meet Our Bureau Chennai, Feb. 8 Students of Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, won the top three positions at the DHL Fast Forward – worldwide logistics business simulation contest – held at Bonn, Germany, recently. The contest was launched in April last year, under the patronage of the German Foreign Minister, Mr Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The event had over 8,500 participants from 120 countries. The contest had three levels. Five students — Prasasnna Joshi, Rutvij Oza, Rohit Menon, Parth S. Bhimani and Adarsh Nand Bahadur — made it to the finals and flew to Germany recently to participate in the final round where real-life case studies were given and teams had to develop their company into a sustainable market-leader. In the first level, players were challenged to develop a small provider of express services into a national champion through sound management decisions. Out of the 8,500 participants, 500 were selected and the 5 Great Lakers were amongst these. In the second round, the first level’s top 10 teams, consisting of 50 students from 12 countries, competed in three different areas of logistics services, namely — forwarding, express and supply chain services. Five students from Great Lakes, threefrom the Indian School of Business and two from the Indian Institute of Management represented India. More Stories on : Events | Education
