Rs 6,000-cr bonds to fertiliser cos

New Delhi, Feb. 3

The Union Government on Thursday announced the issue of ‘6.65 per cent Fertiliser Companies Government of India Special Bonds, 2023’ for Rs 6,000 crore at par to 23 Fertiliser Companies as compensation towards fertiliser subsidy during the current financial year. Investment in the special bonds by banks and insurance companies will not be reckoned as an eligible investment in Government securities for their statutory requirements. However, such investment by in surance companies will be eligible to be reckoned as investment under the “Other Approved Securities” category as defined under Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Investment) Regulations, 2000. —
