Balmer Lawrie posts 18% rise in income

Kolkata, Jan. 31 During the quarter ended December 31, 2008, Balmer Lawrie, a Mini Ratna PSU, posted an 18 per cent increase in income to Rs 413 crore (Rs 350 crore in the same period of previous year) and 20 per cent increase in profit before tax at Rs 36.53 crore (Rs 30.39 crore), according to company release.

Cumulatively, the total income during the nine-month period ended December 31,2008, amounted to Rs 1,309 crore (Rs 1,076 crore) and net profit Rs 73.63 crore (Rs 66.18 crore), the press release adds.
