CMC’s third-quarter net up 19%

Mumbai, Jan. 13 CMC Ltd, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services, today reported a 19.12 per cent rise in consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008 to Rs 25.98 crore from Rs 21.81 crore reported in the same quarter a year ago.

However, the consolidated revenue for the quarter under review fell by 23.92 per cent to Rs 216.37 crore (Rs 284.38 crore), the city based IT firm said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

On a standalone basis, CMC reported a 10.29 per cent growth at Rs 23.36 crore (Rs 21.18 crore).

Shares of CMC closed at Rs 291, up 0.67 per cent on the BSE.
