All types of vessel-repairing work, to be undertaken by Wartsila India Ltd, can now be executed at Paradip. With this, the port authorities now hope to repair not only its own vessels but also vessels belonging to other port trusts and shipping companies. Paradip port had so far been sending its vessels to Kolkata and Visakhapatnam for dry docking. The facility will be inaugurated on January 12.
