Our Bureau

Bangalore, Dec. 22 The iconic brand Montblanc plans to open three more stores in India before April next year.

Mr Dilip Doshi, Chairman and Managing Director of Entrack International Trading Pvt Ltd, which represents Montblanc in India, told Business Line that India has the potential to be the largest customer for Montblanc’s range of products.

He said Montblanc has retail stores in eight cities in the country at present. Retail stores in a few more cities will be added soon, he said.

Steady growth

Mr Doshi said the Montblanc range of products have witnessed a growth of between 30 per cent and 40 per cent over the last few years in India.

Mr Doshi said the price of Montblanc range is the same as those which are sold in Germany.

He said the brand has added a few more products, including leather accessories, eyewear, fine jewellery and Swiss watches.

Limited editions

He pointed out that since 1992, Montblanc has been producing limited editions of writing-instrument lines, which are dedicated to famous arts patrons, writers and musicians.

“With only 4,810 pieces made of each edition, they have become coveted articles for collectors worldwide,” he said.

He said the gold nib of Montblanc writing instruments goes through 70 stages of production before it is made into a nib.
