The team will visit the fishing harbour and some of the processing units at Kakinada on Wednesday and later visit Bhimavaram in west Godavari district on Thursday. Mr Aravind Kumar said the Visakhapatnam fishing harbour was one of the best in the country. However, he said, keeping in view the long-term needs there was a need to establish a new fishing harbour. Referring to the long-pending proposal to shift the fishing harbour from here to Bhimili, he said it would cost at least Rs 100 crore, and earlier, it was agreed that the Visakhapatnam port and the Union Agriculture Ministry would share it.
