The recently inaugurated third runway at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi is available for round-the-clock operations starting today.

Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd, the joint venture consortium operating and developing the IGI Airport, had inaugurated the runway for commercial operations on September 25.

The operational hours of the new runway were increased in a phased manner in accordance to global aviation best practices.

“Completed more than six months ahead of scheduled date of February 2009, the runway is built to Code F standards, making it capable of handling new generation large aircraft such as the Airbus A38,” said a press release.
