Infrastructure States - Other States Delhi’s airport opens third runway for round-the-clock operation Our Bureau New Delhi, Oct. 30 The recently inaugurated third runway at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi is available for round-the-clock operations starting today. Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd, the joint venture consortium operating and developing the IGI Airport, had inaugurated the runway for commercial operations on September 25. The operational hours of the new runway were increased in a phased manner in accordance to global aviation best practices. The maintenance of the main runways will be carried out on alternate days on the weekdays whereas secondary runway maintenance will be carried out on Sundays between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. “Completed more than six months ahead of scheduled date of February 2009, the runway is built to Code F standards, making it capable of handling new generation large aircraft such as the Airbus A38,” said a press release. 3rd runway at Delhi to be operational from today More Stories on : Infrastructure | Airlines | Other States
