Tata Power to develop hydel project in Bhutan

Mumbai, July 22 Tata Power Company Ltd has announced its partnership with the Government of Bhutan to develop the 114 MW run-of-the-river hydroelectric power project over River Dagachhu in Bhutan.

The project will be executed by the Special Purpose Vehicle — Dagachhu Hydro Power Corporation Ltd in which Tata Power had agreed to pick up a 26 per cent stake.

Tata Power declined to disclose the amount invested by the company for the stake.

The main developer of the project will be Druk Green Power Corporation Ltd.

Tata Power Trading will purchase the power generated from the project.
