Agricultural Institutions States - Andhra Pradesh Markfed for higher MSP Hyderabad, July 14 The Andhra Pradesh State Co-Operative Marketing Federation (AP Markfed) has asked Mr Sharad Pawar, Union Minister for Agriculture, to increase the minimum support price (MSP) to Rs 840 from the present Rs 620 a quintal for maize. Mr Ponnam Prabhakar, Chairman of Markfed and Director of NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation), said that unless the Government increases the MSP there was a likelihood of drastic reduction in maize growing area.
