New Delhi, June 24 Talent development company NIIT on Tuesday signed an agreement with software product development firm Infospectrum to market, sell and support the latter’s customisable Educational Resource Planning solutions, in schools.

The strategic alliance results in offering ‘Quick School’ an Educational Resource Planning tool which spans functional requirements and departments of educational institutions.

The solution would allow the schools to manage information on academics, staff, students, examination, attendance, fees, schedules, payroll, recruitment, library, hostel, transport and inventory among others, on a real time basis. For instance, it supports SMS alerts in case a student’s fee is due or even in case a student is absent. Other functionalities that can be useful include biometrics for staff attendance.

The implementation of the tool in schools would enable parents to monitor real time progress of their wards, effectively addressing their needs to identify improvement areas for better academic performance. “With this strategic alliance, we are now in a position to addresses the needs of all the key stakeholders within the education realm- students, teachers, principals, school management and parents,” Mr P Rajendran, COO of NIIT Ltd, said at a conference here.

QuickSchool, which is currently being offered by Infospectrum in over 140 schools, would become part of the NIIT eGURU Solution offering. While NIIT would bring its expertise and reach in schools, Infospectrum would offer exclusive development and customisation of the school ERP solution and modules for varied needs.

“With the integration of ready-to-deploy Educational Resource Planning tool in our portfolio, we are confident that schools will be able to strengthen their services to students and parents thus enhancing their competitive advantage many fold,” Mr L. Balasubramanian, President-School Learning Solutions, NIIT said.
