New Products & Services Hyundai launches CNG variant in Accent Our Bureau New Delhi, June 9 Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Monday announced the launch of the CNG variant of its mid-size sedan Accent at Rs 56,500 more than its current price. At present the company is offering the car at a price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex showroom Delhi). The dual fuel Accent will use CNG as an alternate fuel and would be compatible without any modification. Hyundai Motors has tied up with a Korea-based CNG kit supplier CEV to provide the kits that would meet the €3 emission norms. Initially, the Accent CNG variant will be launched in Delhi and the National Capital Region, with all company dealers equipped to sell and service the new model. “Offering Accent with a CNG kit will only add to its appeal as it will not only be cheaper to run but also eco-friendly,” said Mr H.S. Lheem, Managing Director, HMIL, commenting on the launch in a statement. With the running cost estimated to be Rs 1.15/km or even less depending on the driving cycle, the cost reduction is estimated to be 60-70 per cent for the consumer, the company said.
