Infosys in pact with US varsity

Bangalore, June 4

Infosys Technologies and The University of Southern California (USC) Viterbi School of Engineering have announced an agreement to set up an Infosys-supported research centre at USC.

The agreement was signed by Mr Yannis C. Yortsos, Dean of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, and Mr Kris Gopalakrishnan, CEO and Managing Director, Infosys Technologies.

A Centre for Research & Education in Advanced Software Technologies (CAST) will be opened at the USC campus. Created with funding from Infosys, CAST will facilitate joint research and education in areas such as software architecture, service oriented architecture and information integration, intelligent systems and agents, mobile and wireless systems, sensor networks and CAD frameworks and tools for hardware and software.

“The United States is the hub for innovation in science and technology,” said Mr Subu Goparaju, Vice President and Head, SETLabs, Infosys Technologies.
