BPCL Kochi refines 8.2 mt crude

Kochi, April 4

BPCL Kochi Refinery has refined 8.2 million tonnes of crude oil during 2007-08. This is the highest crude throughput attained by the refinery in a single year, a press release issued here said. The refinery was able to commission the single point mooring facility which has enabled it to receive crude oil in large crude carriers and thus bring down the cost of transportation of crude oil. The company also achieved a record production of 4,42,179 tonnes of LPG, 8,75,463 tonn es of petrol, 28,299 tonnes of aviation turbine fuel and 24,343 tonnes of sulphur during the year. For maintaining consistent performance in pollution control and environment protection, the refinery has won various awards including the Kerala State Pollution Control Award as also several National Kerala Safety Council Awards, the release said. —
