Bangalore units log 14% growth in PBT

Bangalore, April 4

BHEL’s Bangalore-based units, the Electronics Division, Industrial Systems Group and Electroporcelains Division, have recorded 14 per cent growth year-on-year in profit before tax at Rs 429 crore for the year 2007-08.

Sales turnover of Rs 1,687 crore was an all-time high with 13 per cent growth year-on-year.

Orders worth Rs 3,227 crore were booked with total orders at Rs 4,695 crore at the close of the year.

The facilities are being upgraded so as to achieve an annual turnover of over Rs 4,000 crore by 2011-12.

The units supplied a record number of 3,000 automation system cubicles during the year.

Market leadership was maintained in the control and instrumentation business with a share of 65 per cent.

The Electronics Division reached a major milestone in its power plant & industrial automation business by booking record orders of Rs 1,825 crore.
