Dreams’ animation projects

Hyderabad, Feb. 21

With the animation space getting crowded by mythological narratives, Dreams, a Hyderabad-based entertainment company, has decided to make a series of full-length films based on non-mythological narratives. “There is an overkill of mythological animation films. We think we can attempt bigger projects in animation. So we choose to do full-length films in this arena,” Mr Deepak Jadhav, Managing Director, said. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he sai d the company would release Kutti Chetan and Friends, a film-based on a popular Kerala lore, by the year-end. “We have completed the pre-production works with the help of animators in the Philippines and Indonesia. The Rs 12-crore film would be released in all major Indian languages. The 100-minute film would have a combination of 2D and 3D animation generated using Maya software. “We are working on two animation film projects — Inside Me and The Trap,” Mr V Rajeshwar Rao, Chairman, said.
