Fresh PIL against book fair at Salt Lake stadium

Our Legal Correspondent

Kolkata, Feb. 21 A fresh public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Calcutta High Court by an advocate challenging holding of Book Fair 2008 at Salt Lake Stadium from March 1 to March 10.

In the petition, it has been stated that the State Government was organising the fair without a Cabinet decision. During that period, the examination session shall remain in operation.

This apart, the IFA Shield football tournament, to held during that period, may also get hampered. The matter will appear on Friday before the court of Chief Justice and Mr Justice P.C. Ghose.
