V. Rishi Kumar

Hyderabad, Feb. 8 German firm Beko Technologies Gmbh, engaged in compressed air technology products and solutions for industrial applications, has set up its fourth global manufacturing base and its first in India at Hyderabad. The other plants are located in the US, Germany and Spain.

The company sees immense potential for supply of its products in defence applications, gas distribution networks, CNG filling stations and manufacturing companies.

The Managing Director of Beko Technologies, Ms Monique Abeels-Koch, told Business Line that since its inception as a family-owned business in 1982, the company has made a mark in extremely competitive markets and is now looking at expanding its presence in India.

This plant is expected to manufacture the entire product range for filteration, drying, processing and distribution in addition to measurement equipment.

The Managing Director of Beko Compressed Air Technologies, Mr Eric Purshotham, said that the compressed air system is only as good as the weakest link in the chain. Therefore, these products are critical to gas supply system. The company has begun to supply its products to gas dispensing fuel stations and also to Indraprashtha Gas.

Venture

The Hyderabad facility has been set up as a venture between Beko and Mr Purshotham with 85:15 per cent ownership. The project promoters have acquired additional land near the new manufacturing base and plan to further expand the capacity.

The company believes that air compression technology market is estimated at about Rs 1000 crore. Its products have niche industrial usage and complement the other products of air compression and purification industry.
