BHEL wins Rs 3,390 cr contract

New Delhi, Feb. 8

Equipment major Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has secured a contract worth Rs 3,390 crore for setting up two units of 500 MW each at Anpara D Thermal Power Station (TPS) in Uttar Pradesh. The units, ordered by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (UPRVUNL), are slated for commissioning in 2011-12. BHEL’s scope of work in the contract includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of boiler turbine generator package along with associated auxiliaries, balance of plant and civil works. BHEL has already commissioned over 10,000 MW of power generating sets in the State, which include thermal, gas-based, nuclear and hydro units of various ratings. —
