WatchGuard Tech’s new devices

Coimbatore, Feb. 4

WatchGuard Technologies has unveiled its latest version of network security software for its Firefox, Peak, Core and Edge unified threat management (UTM) appliances. “Unlike other network security devices, the new WatchGuard Fireware 10 and Edge 10 releases are optimised for the present day complex network connectivity schemes, are reliable, have enhanced functionality and greater administrator management control,” its Country Manager (India and SAARC), Mr Su nil Sapra, said. Explaining yet another management issue that the latest version addressed, he said “it revolves around employees and students who misuse HTTPS to bypass network security filters. By inserting “s” at the end of “http” in most Web browser URL lines, users can often bypass many firewall and administrative rules, and surf inappropriate, unauthorised or otherwise unsafe Web sites. The WebBlocker filtering for HTTPS Web pages eliminates the pernicious security and productivity risk.’
