Social Security States - Kerala Kerala small industries’ body launches social security fund Our Bureau Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 14 The Kerala State Small Industries Association (KSSIA) has launched a social security fund for its members. Inaugurating the KSSIA Social Security Fund scheme in the city today, the State Industries Minister, Mr Elamaram Kareem, said that the State Government would look at how it could be associated with the scheme. The KSSIA should take the initiative to ensure that all active small- and medium-scale entrepreneurs in Kerala are brought into the social security scheme, he added. The State Government has decided to entrust KSSIA with the responsibility of running the common facilities centres in some industrial parks in Kerala, he said. These centres will offer basic amenities such as rest rooms, snack counters and information counters to people visiting industrial parks. The Industries Department has also prepared a plan to improve the basic infrastructure at industrial parks in the State. It hopes to take up this venture in the coming fiscal, he added. According to Mr Kareem, the State Government is developing a proposal to craft a ‘Made in Kerala’ brand for goods manufactured in the State. The government believes that such a scheme will help create a market for Kerala’s products by projecting a single brand image. More Stories on : Social Security | Industry Associations | SSI | Kerala
