Agricultural Institutions Agricultural research academy bags Rs 24.09 cr project Our Bureau Hyderabad, Dec. 19 The National Academy of Agricultural Research and Management (NAARM) has got a Rs 24.09 crore project on learning and capacity building (L&CB). The project given by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), under its World Bank-supported National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP), is intended to institutionalise a learning organisation mode in the national agricultural system (NRS). A launch workshop for the project is being organised by NAARM during December 19-20, 2007 for integration and finalisation of work plan and to divide the responsibilities among the collaborative institutions. About 50 representatives from IIM-Lucknow, NIRD, MANAGE, and ASCI from Hyderabad, MSSRF-Chennai, GB Pant University, etc are expected to attend the workshop, according to a press release. A major objective of the project is to combine the strengths of the public and private institutions to raise agricultural incomes through efficient management of value chain, provide livelihood security and enhance the competitive advantage of Indian agriculture.
