‘India needs to speed up adoption of BI solution’

L.N. Revathy

Coimbatore, Dec. 18 California headquartered Business Objects is eyeing the Indian market for growth. The company, a leading provider of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, has found India way behind North America and Europe in adoption of BI solutions.

“The country lags at least by 3 to 5 years in BI adoption. Yet working with Indian customers is nice as they have the propensity to move up the value chain very quickly,” its Senior Vice-President and General Manager (Asia Pacific and Japan), Mr Keith Budge, told Business Line.

Solution’s features

Explaining how an organisation’s disparate data could be transformed to provide meaningful information and analysis to employees, customers, suppliers and partners with the use of the company’s BI solutions, he said: “it has become the top priority for CIOs today.” BPOs use BI solutions widely to circumvent the challenge of the rising rupee, he said, adding that the predictive analytics technology helped individuals explore the past and present business scenarios, uncover trends and identify pockets to project future incomes. While admitting the rapid growth of BI solutions and hailing the adoption levels, he said a majority of the customers still preferred to test run it and see if it worked better before actually opting for it.
